Standing on the bed while he sleeps I stare until he acknowledges me. When he does I snuggle up and ask him to kiss every part of me if he wants to go back to sleep. Reminds me of how I always used to get in trouble for staying up late. We had bunk beds and I was always on top. Until we moved and no longer had to share a room. Some things change, some things don’t, this is an inconsistent ocean. But the lantern’s still lit, Always a beacon, always a door.
